GEARING 101
A step by step guide to being an elitist jackass with 2000 hit and NO time for newbies.
Your gear is bad and you should feel bad
Okay, so you shouldn't feel bad. You just dinged 70. You can't get into experts to get the super uber gear. OH NOES! So seriously, it's not hard to get into experts. You need eight pieces of 250 hit gear. BoE greens will do fine. They don't even have to be specifically for your class. Here's how you get them:
This is possibly the simplest answer that will tell you almost nothing about how to do it right. If you just focused on the eight pieces of gear that will give you hit you will be a horrible gamer, your gear will be bad, and you should feel bad. Don't ignore hit, but don't ignore your other gear either. You'll need all those stats if you're ever going to play your class to its fullest potential. Gearing 101 is simply to get you into SPE's where you can get some decent gear. Gearing 102 is the next section.

- Mini-Chronicles - Each zone has a mini-chronicle daily you should do that mentors you up to level 70. The gear that drops in these are generally either 69 or 70 greens. All the level 70 green gear is 250 hit. If you get lucky you can get a good chunk of your gear from here. Remember that the alternate stats of caster or martial will do in a pinch. For example, I'm still using a rogue stat neck piece as a warrior. It's okay. You'll be fine in the new experts.
- Ashenfell Perplexing Puzzle Pieces - Each of these five puzzle pieces give you a chance at decent quality 250 hit gear. Do these first:
- 3588, 5720 - Ashenfell Whirring Puzzle Box
- 2279, 4879 - Ashenfell Ticking Puzzle Box
- 3124, 4854 - Ashenfell Humming Puzzle Box
- 3505, 4687 - Ashenfell Buzzing Puzzle Box
- 3239, 3428 - Ashenfell Tocking Puzzle Box
- Auction House - Once you've done the puzzle run and ran your chronicles it's time to buy whatever slots you're missing. Fortunately, most of these slots can be filled up for only a few hundred platinum. As more BoE gear is farmed by everyone the further these prices will drop. I was fortunate and was 2000 hit within two hours of hitting 70 and paid less than 1,000 platinum. You should be able to pay significantly less.
- Crafted Gear - In the event you're missing one or two 250 hit pieces and just can't seem to find that filler piece on the auction house you can hunt down someone with the recipe you need. This WILL NOT be cheap. This WILL NOT be on the auction house yet. The gear isn't BiS either. It will get you to 250 hit though. Your best bet here is to either find a guildy with a spare ammender or level that crafting skill yourself.
